Home Race: Big Success

The Wildcats hosted a successful mountain bike race weekend in Oracle State Park on Sept 20 and 21. Riders took home victories in the Men’s A, Men’s B, and Women’s B cross country events. On Sunday, the team went 1,2,3 in the Women’s B, 1st in the Men’s B, and 1st and 2nd in the Men’s A short track races. After a quick break the racing resumed and the team won the team relay by nearly a minute over NAU.

This week the team is off the Gallup, NM in hopes of closing the gap to NAU in the conference omnium!

We’re excited to bring another event to the town of Oracle and to work with the state park system! Hopefully this is the start of a strong relationship between state parks and mountain bike events.

Last weekend, riders competed in Angel Fire, NM at the Back 2 School Special. Kyle Trudeau took home the win in the Men’s A XC event and Alex Alvarez won the Men’s C. David Carlson, last years omnium winner, raced did his first down hill race and finished third, a handful of seconds behind teammate and winner Andrew Keller.

Up next is the Horny Toad Hustle!
